Title: Is a Nerd more or less likely to commit any unethical action?
Post by: Freaked12 on June 20, 2010, 04:52:00 pm
Like those bespectacled, skinny, 'nerdy' guys you'd usually least expect to ever do such a thing?

:D

EDIT: For example, can they murder someone?

They seem like they're innocent. So, can they actually do such thing which we would least expect them to?

Arsenal, when you create a topic, please avoid using such direct "slapstick" words. Communicate your message in a more pleasant way.

I edited your post to make it more "ethical". Guys, continue the debate.

Firstly, "Nerds" mean someone who is a bookworm, or has a deep interest in something. NOT necessarily are they "thin, outcast or something like that"! Its just that they have a DEEP passion for something. A burning desire, that's it.

Like any normal person, we can thus expect them to commit such unethical actions. Actually, more, cause they will do anything to achieve what they want.

I'm a nerd.

ohkay what does a nerd mean exactly? :P

Nerd is a term, often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who avidly pursues intellectual activities, technical or scientific endeavours, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are unusual for one's age, rather than engaging in more social or conventional activities. The nerd may be awkward, shy and unattractive. Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.

I can be quite attractive LOL :P and I socialize on the internet :P I'm a partial nerd or summin...and yeah i can keeel  :D

Nerds can commit unethical action actually. All criminals are nerds. Like Osama bin Laden. He had a DEEP passion to ruin America's economy, and therefore, was a nerd.. And he was the "hero" behind the 9/11 attacks, which caused worldwide businesses (esp insurance) and stock markets to collapse. >:( >:(

this is a story of a nerd.
A hotel owner heard a bang. Thinking it was a gun, he called the police. They searched the hotel, and outside one room they heard heavy breathing and cursing.
They broke the door down and found...a man trying to blow up a rubber doll he had burst with his exertions and tried to repair. Where did this happen? Of course the USA!

Nerds should be respected. Bill Gates said:

"Respect the nerds, chances are you'll be working for one"

So... Don't you guys ridicule us nerds!
