Hey Gaurav :)
The TOFEL is the Test Of English as a Foreign Language Exam
The IELTS is the International English Language Testing System
Both of them are obviously, English language exams, recognized by many universities world wide.
For the IELTS you have to be at least 16 years old to do it, I don't know about the TOFEL.
The advantage of these exams is that they're recognized globally, and set your language standards with a grade that can be used any where. Universities, Workplaces etc.
If you need any questions don't hesitate to contact me, I've done the IELTS exam :)

Well if you're applying for college or for any immigration purposes, these exams are now required.
