Title: English Language A levelz
Post by: MAF on July 02, 2009, 07:28:05 pm: I wud like to knoe whether english language iz a full or half credit A level? nd does it affect the credit if i use it as a second language?

for CIE English Language ... its a full crdt with only a years course ...

a year=AS
AS=half credit
turns out u r cmpletely confused!! nd i a also askd whether being first lang or second affects its credit?

i hav done my english A levels.... it is full crdt with only one years course ... yes they cover it in ONE year
its a CIE thing ...english is a one year course ...

dunt really know bat first lang orsecond language affecting the credits..

English LANGUAGE has just 2 paperz it is only AS level.
As far as i have known no oder course wid similar characteristics nd a full credit. :P 8)
nd u hav done an english A levls which cud b English literature, language nd literature etc.
All ov these r full credits bt just eng lang. ... i aint so sure ???

just the 2 language papers i did during my AS level course... adnbecuase it doesnt hav an A level paper ... the english language is given full credit with just a years course !

Post by: master786 on July 10, 2009, 03:50:04 pm: well CIE its bascially the same thing lik IG but now the examiner looks into the words nd the story more than ever before ... so getting a B is also a great acheivement after a year of practice...
so i m not sure if a month of self study wud be enough.... but if ur confident then no problem :D

then there is language analysis .. and this sessions papers .. lots of them cudnt finish properly... lik bcoz the time ran out ...they had to abruptly end the final essay..

so its not the simplest of papers... plus the strictness with which theexaminers will mark the paper
