Yep I did it, it was actually easier than most papers (especially summer 2012) and I suppose I will get somewhere between 24 and 26 out of 30 :)

People in my school found it even easier than I thought it was, and they didn't really make the silly mistakes that I did haha :D
And I'm really nervous about physics as well on Tuesday :-\ The problem with physics is, the syllabus is VERY easy but they ask freaking hard questions about those easy topics... which makes everything difficult for everyone :D Chemistry is harder in terms of syllabus but the exam is a lot easier in my opinion...

I'm saying it again, Revealing exam content will result in a ban. No ICT practicals exam discussion even after 24 hours have passed because as you know not all practicals take place at on the same day.

I hope physics has more calculations than suggest/expain type questions... and I'm sitting French on the same day and Maths C1 (AS) on Monday and more exams on wednesday and friday. Yay.

ok. I just realized that my teacher just SKIPPED at least 10-15 marks of subject (out of 180) from the syllabus. I'm so scewed.

You must use the syllabus whenever you're studying. You will never miss anything if you do so.

I know... I'm using it. If I weren't I wouldn't have noticed that we just skipped nearly a chapter in (electro)magnetism. And I need someone to ugrently explain them to me. ???

"Use black ink or ball-point pen."
It says in the instruction . Ask the examiner to make sure if pencil is allowed . For Cambridge exam which I gave, pencil was allowed for graphs .

I am confused because in the maths B paper we are allowed to carry a HB pencil though the instructions read that use a black ink or ball point pen. Moreover if i accidently plot the wrong points on the graph how am i supposed to correct them.....

That will be for graphs, you are supposed to answer all the questions in black or blue ball point pen, and plot graphs in pencil, as it is so easy to make a mistake ;) Make sure you remember to switch back to a pen after doing the graphs though!!! :)

I actually thought physics was easier than other papers... I have seen harder ones...
And French was REALLY easy... Yay!

I was doing Biology 6B and beside me was a guy who was doing this physics paper. The poor guy was writing in blue pen.

I don't know why people are not allowed to use blue pens in Edexcel exams.
It's okay in CIE exams.

Most UniQue --> we can't speak in exams... the thing is that they need dark colour to make sure they can scan the paper and the examiner can read it!

Nothing could be done about it. I only noticed after I finished my paper and was relaxing. which means about 1 hour 20 minutes after exam started (their paper was of 2 hours). Invigilators can't do anything about it too. Last year when I was doing chemistry there was a guy who was also writing in blue pen. They told him you can't use blue pen and did nothing more.
Plus I can't take that risk of telling him; they may disqualify me?

Hello! I am new here. I am a year 10 student who has just done their maths early sit. To be honest, paper 3H was far easier than i expected. A few odd hard ones here and there, otherwise, not so bad at all.

I'm sitting my English A Paper 1 and Paper 2 this week.... I've been self studying at home as a mature student, mainly due to time and cost implications.... am now really panicking and wonder if anyone can tell me whether there has been a main Anthology focus if you are doing yours in lessons? I'm guessing that those in the past 3 papers I've seen are unlikely to come up but cannot find out what was in Jan 2013 paper.
If anyone can shed some light to help me find a quick area of focus for Thursday's paper 2 I would really appreciate it. Equally appreciate if anyone could put my mind at ease, I do write presentations, business papers, HR policies, marketing items and have worked in various sectors with exposure to a lot of poorly written English and need grammatical adjustments so am I worrying for nothing. What is worrying me the most is that I did NOT want to do anything literature based and notice that this is quite literature heavy..... GRRR might need to look at an alternative if I don't achieve a C in this!

Question about Chemistry.
How come the efficiency of the Haber process in reality is 15%, instead of the theoretical 30%?
So, in other words, only 15% of Ammonia is produced, instead of the theoretical 30%.
Are there like factors affecting it or something? ??? ??? ??? :o :o :'(

There are reasons for that. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of them right now.
But let me try.
Experimental error? Theoretical calculations assume you do no experimental errors in masses or volumes of reactants for example. So 30% yield is when your experiment is completely perfect, which is impossible.
Check your textbook, there must be something about that.

Yes. Since metal oxides are basic and non metal oxides are acidic, this is an acid base reaction or neutralisation.

There was another question about halogens.. they gave the colors and physical state in room temp. for chlorine, bromine and iodine, and then asked: what would the color of Astatine be compared to Iodine?
I wrote : Astatine is darker than iodine.. am I right?

Biology was actually easier than what i thought it would be like, however English B.... I didnt like it at all.. not at all! Pure maths was very easy except question 9 :D

puremaths paper 1 was awesome!! but i screwed up in a few parts x( ...since they give marks for methods, i'm expecting 90 up! ;D

biology was the weirdest exam ever. especially the one about the pool in Uganda and many like them... I was thinking they should put thermostatically contolled heaters and automatic food dispesers for the fish but it's effin UGANDA!!!! where will they find those stuff??? I wrote them anyway haha :D
some people thought it was easy, some people like me hated it... And today I did AS Maths C2 (I know this is not the place for it) and EVERYONE thought it was INSANELY hard... Just terrible.

I've done the maths IGCSE last year, and I'm doing double maths A-Level so I'm doing the first 2 papers of AS maths this year, 5 papers next year, 5 papers the year after... And IGCSEs from all the other lessons...
If I was to do 1 a-level from maths, I would have done only the C1 this year for maths and 2 papers next year, 3 the year after...

You would lose the axis mark (1 mark). 5/6 if everything else is correct.

I don't regret doing double maths but C2 was too hard in comparison to the other papers so I'm just afraid how the other papers will turn out to be next year and the year after...

TBH I'm not totally sure. I always thought the main uses of UV light was for Sun Tans and detecting forged bank notes, but it is used in both of your answers, so, yes, you probably would get 2 marks. But don't quote me on it ;)

Aren't Neon signs made of Neon? at least that's what I studied.

Surely that was a bar graph because there we were supposed to represent colors against their voltage required/wavelength (whatever it was) you can't use a line graph with colors. You must have both units like weight against height for that. I hope you understand that :P

I wrote the compound was sodium chloride.. apparently, its wrong.. what was the question exactly?? did they ask for the sodium compound used? i thought they asked what the compound formed was.. most of my friends wrote sodium carbonate.. it was 2marks right??

i wrote sodium carbonate as well because of the fizzing,which doesnt happen when sodium hydroxide is added
