Have you encountered any issues trying to save/print this PDF on a computer?
There seems to be something causing the PDF to be unprintable.

The link won't let me access the file saying it's temporarily unavailable. Any ideas on how I can access it?  :)

from the article, im guessing q's on ethics, proteins, genes/gene expression, use of new information as treatment for humans (incl. vectors used in gene therapy etc). neurology..

im not too sure about the last two pages as it mixes theoretical assumptions with the mole rats behaviour, which personally i find quite deceptive.

what are we meant to do with this article?

thanks in advance

That's rubbish of mediafire for blocking it and awful for you getting a strike for being helpful.

I will post what I think will come up, when I get chance to study the article, I'm making notes on the topics in the mean time.

Can someone please explain depolarisation to me, I know it isn't part of the article, but it's part of Unit 5.

(I'm an external candidate, learning from the textbook, without a teacher - so I hope people don't mind me asking).

I can't help you with it as I'm also a private candidate and haven't finished studying too  :-[

Depolarisation is a change in the potential difference across the membrane
if you are refering to depolarisation of axon membrane during an action potential then upon the arrival of an action potential there is a change in the permeability of axon membrane to sodium ions , sodium ion channels open allowing the influx of Na+ ions into the membrane this will make the inside more positive as compared to the outside the membrane is depolarised there is a difference in potential difference across the membrane.

Thats it hope its clear, there might be some mistakes as i am also doing the exam this june
