What a pointless waste of my money, cos I pay his wages through my taxes.

The police should not not be allowed to stop you unless there is suspicion you are commiting a crime.
In the UK they have all numberplate recognition stuff so they do all sorts of checks before they stop you.
And what they got today was

On that basis they wasted my time.

But they're allowed to stop you if your car is REALLY old; that's when they take the car away for safety reasons.
But of course, if they insured your car I dunno why else did they stop you. ::)

Really old cars are legal.
I can be charged for wasting police time over here.
Why can't the police be charged for wasting police time?
We should be allowed to arrest the police for wasting police time.

Really old cars in good condition are legal.
Old, and bad condition, they will have to stop you. it's the same in all everywhere.
