No, it isnt mandatory to undertake any subject though your school may have different rules.
Dropping maths closes many doors to you...

only do if u want to go in commerce/arts linee
if u want to science dont do it

You don't need to be a genius to pass Math, try it first. If you will drop Math you are narrowing your other chances and options. Try it first then if you really find it hard that's the time to call it quits. Best of luck!

That is a very wrong judgment. Mathematics is integral if you're going for engineering. Even if someone is going for Biology/Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics at this stage is a minimum.
Usually Math is compulsory in O-Levels, when speaking of most countries' regulations. Your education would not be considered adequate by most universities, private or not, if you do not take O-Level Math as it is an essential subject. Because O-Levels is going to be very useful in terms of forming the base for all your future studies and exams. Basic Math is infinitely important in almost any field of study, be it commerce, economics, computers, ICT, engineering, medicine, art and design. And basic Math is basically O-Level Math, so only someone who has no interest in a strong career would skip it. You can leave it when it comes to A-Levels, though I would still recommend you take it because it's a great aide in entry tests, but it's not incumbent. But my humble advice is that you definitely take O-Level Math. You might not like Math and may find it difficult, but that is all the more reason to study it! If you're scared of Math, take up medical subjects or art so that it has minimal involvement, but it will be involved no matter what subject combination you have, so don't leave this out.
