The simplest solution would be to assume something can be made from nothing. All the problems, in the universe or about it would be solved then.

Sadly, it doesn't work that way.

There are several possibilities of how the universe came into existence. One of them is the big bang. It's just an other theory

The sum total of energy is probably zero. Negative gravitational plus possitive mass energy cancel out. The universe is just a quantum bubble.

Nope. I don't like Stephen Hawking. When I see him I always thing of the evil cripple in a wheelchair who controls the universe. There was one such on Dr Who.

I believe Hawking had a show called Stephen Hawking - Master of the Universe.  :P
