Can someone please explain the term and concept of longtail to me ??? thanks. ;D ASAP

i have never ever heard of that term but i jst looked it up.
basically rather than mass production, its selling many many items but only having a few of each.
kinda like how amazon works.
products that are low in demand or have low sales volumes can collectively make up a market share that can be very high
