guys please could somebody explain to me how to balance an equation in basic medium please :)

im assuming your referring to the electrolysis equations.

anyways so basic meaning alkaline absolution must have OH ions .

 thus in the equation add OH ion on the side where you have electrons and on the other side add h20 to balance the equations

like wise for acidic you add H+ instead ;D

but plz can u clarify it more by balancing this :)
MnO2 + ClO4^(-) + OH^(-) ----> Cl + MnO4 + H2
(-) is the oxidation state :)
