Title: Chemistry As level CIE Equilibra question?
Post by: lxxxphysixxxl on May 29, 2010, 10:48:06 am
Hey

i was thinking about your KP and KC expressions.

And please correct me if Im wrong but i think it is

liquids, aqueous and gases that are compatible with Kp expressions. And only liquids and aqueouses are compatible in Kc expressions.

Please let me know which physical states are compatible with which expressions?

everything should be compatible with both except solids. technically gas is can be considered a concentration . however it is very unlikelly for a gas to be given in a kc question

Kp cannot be compatible for any state except gaseous because instead of the concentration in moldm-3 of the reactants and products, it is the measure of the partial pressure of a gas in a mixture of gases. Kc can be used for any state of matter as every state of matter has moles.

hey

ok so to my understanding Kp can be only be used with gas

and kc can be used with aqueous and liquid.

Thanks guys

Plz correct me if im wrong again.
