I think this is needed as we have 2 exams in a row in some time.
Anyways, feel free to ask doubts here. I'll try my best and others will help as well(I hope)

Does anyone have notes for these ?
causes and consequences of rapid
and progressive deforestation-
clearance for fuelwood, subsistence
and cash crop farming, settlement,
timber extraction and grazing; links
with soil erosion and desertification,
climate changes, effect on people
(displacement, lack of fuel)
causes and consequences of soil
erosion and desertification -
removal of vegetation, overgrazing,
overcultivation, clearance of slopes,
poor irrigation; food shortage and
water shortage, displacement of
people
-
go to unit 4.5 and unit 4.6 for those topics.
-
i hate this S**T subject.
paper 4 is the worst thing out there.
-
@ fatsal - i dont think all those topics are covered in those chapters in text. You are talking abt John Pallister rite?
-
yes, it is covered though, it talks about the causes and effects of soil erosion, and causes and effectsof deforestation
yes paper 4 is the worst
-
@ayesha if u do not get then turn on to atmosphere for these topics.

How is water shortage a consequence of Soil Erosion?
Also, why would it cause the displancement of people?
-
since the soil is gone, people cant farm anymore, they have to migrate
water shortage because since there are no trees, there is less evapotranspiration, so less rainfall, resulting in water shortage. all the water that does come down is lost as trees are no longer there to store it.

thanks Keyur and Fatsal :)

I use the John Pallister core text as well.. how are you guys studying for the exam?
Focussing on past papers or studying the entire textbook?
-
studying te book, and doing some past papers
-
oh okay. Which years you doing?
-

-
oh okay. Which years you doing?
i m doin all past papers which i m having i mean frm 2001 to 2009 both Nov sessions and Jun sessions in total 18 pprs nd xaminers report.
@ayesha read d xaminers report of jun and nov 2009. it would b helpful 2 u as u can predict sum topics which would come in xams. read it carefully! dont 4get to read the er's report specially 4 d qu which were worst answered.
i wish u read this b4 xams :)
-
thanks.
-
you can also do some O level papers
do section A of the o level papers(paper1) for paper 1 igcse. it really helps
anyway, good luck !!
-
Is there anyway to predict the main content of P2 having finished P1? .. Like which sphere to concentrate on?
-
if MORE or some sphere comes in paper 1, it should not probably come in paper 2.
u can check pattern or some 2009 / 2008 papers, to see the pattern.
-
grrrr paper 4....

But its my last exam this summer :D
