Send them an e-mail. Did you discuss this with your school? What did they say?

http://ask.cie.org.uk/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=ESCALATION_REQUEST&EXPANDED_TOPIC_TREE_NODES=&USERTYPE=1&CONFIGURATION=1035&PARTITION_ID=1&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=

or call them on +44 1223 553554

Hope things go well with you. My ammeter was faulty too  ::) Had to replace it  :-\

You don't need to ask your school. Just write to CIE directly and let them know that the school gave you faulty apparatus. Mine changed after 20 min too....I wish to complain but then I managed to finish the exp in less than 15 min...so I was fine with it.

If you really think this has caused you problems with the paper, write to CIE without hesitating.

They need to act fast....If you think they're not doing their job well...you write to them directly.
