Okay Guys So The Exam Is In 5 Hours, Any Final Tips? Doubts?

Like i said before, Try finishing the first question before 5-7 minutes of its time so you can get to read the second experiment a few times and so you'd move on to it quickly starting it knowing exactly what to do instead of loosing time by reading it. :)

i had a que.
if when reading a volt meter or a stop watch and i get 4 eg. 23.32s and then i have to find t2 which should be to 4 or 5 sf and then i have to plot a graph using ma values of t2, so it would be difficult to locate points such as 1.2345 , so do i round ma t values to 23.3s???????? is that ok ???

- when taking values off a stopwatch for example, you should write the timing to the resolution of the stop watch, meaning if the time recorded was 00:06:42, then you write it was 6.42 and not 6.4, even if it was 00:06:00, you still write it as 6.00. these are called RAW VALUES.

- when doing calculations involving raw values, you should always keep them to the same significant figures are the raw values, and yes its very important, examiners care alot about these stuff in practicals unlike other papers.

4sf , so my t sq. wud be 5 sf so how do i plot this on a graph???????
do i round it to 2 or 3sf???????

hey i got a question if they ask us to find the uncertainity of the time calculated wud it b 0.01/value or 0.1/value

c ur t value is 4 sf so if u square it although u get till 5sf but u only ryt down 4sf cuz thts the no. of minimum significant is the raw values

uncertainity of an angle is 1/value(degrees)
uncertainty of redaing from a ruler is 0.1/value(cm)
uncertainity from a micrometerscrew guage is 0.01/value(mm)
uncertainity from a venier calliper is 0.01/value(cm)
uncertainity of time is 0.01/value(seconds)

is this all correct can sum1 check ??

and another question in a table of reading do all the readings have to be the same sf or only the entire group nd the groups related with it(like t and tsq shud have the same sf or like even the distance measured for tht time also has to be the same sf??)

@neno yes those are correct, and no,,the unit has to be to the sf of the resolution of its instrument. :)


@sweetie, leave it as it is, on the graph just plot it as accurately as possible :)
