Title: Physics doubt
Post by: hyebyekadal on May 24, 2010, 09:02:14 am
Can anyone answer this question??
Really need help!

"The shift in in frequency due to a source of light moving at speed v and emitting light of frequency f is given by
(delta)f= (v/c) f
Using the approximation (valid if (v/c) is small)
1/(1(plus or minus)v/c)= 1 (plus or minus) (v/c)
show that the the shift in wavelength is given by
(delta) wavelength= (v/c) wavelength
where wavelength is the emitted wavelength

THANKS!
