Title: Edexcel Mechanics 1 formulas
Post by: rreizend on May 22, 2010, 09:44:32 pm
i just need all the formulas there are for the exam (Mechanics 1), along with the unit symbol definitions.
e.g
I = mv- mu (I-Impulse m-Mass v-Velocity u-Initial velocity)

thanks in advance.

(displacement)= i+j (position vector) + it+jt (velocity * time)

 u have the four equations of motions v=u+at     s=u+v/2    s=ut+1/2at^2    v^2=u^2+2as

moment= force * distance

to convert from scaler to vector = scaler * i+j (unit vector)/ sq rt (i^2+j^2)(magnitude of unit vector)

force= mass*accelaration only when object is in motion

to get the angle between position vector and i or j do the following put tan ø = j/i without signs then check which quadrant does it exist example if i is negative and j positive then it is at the left up at the axis then the ø u found is the angle wiz the x axis subtract the angle or add to 90 or 180 or any other value in order to get it as a bearing or wiz y axis (wiz j in the question)it depends

also friction= ü (meo coofficeint of friction) * R (normal contact force)

thats all :D

Thanks
