in the letter..16 lines are available, but the address occupies 4-5 of 'em. ur left with 10..
how do u manage to fit 150-200 words in 16-5 = 11 lines ??
-
umm my teacher said that she would give us an additional and in the worst case, dont write the address cuz its not marked(just looks good).
-
u sure its not marked?? and additional wat? supplement??
-
additional supplement?! but our teacher has said that we wont be getting any additional supplement whatsoever...and 10 lines isnt enough...so ur saying that the address is not compulsory right?
-
that's only possible if you write 13 words per line..and that's not possible!
so..i guess we use the extra space below the lines... ;D
-
our teacher said that they might even provide extra space this year and if not, she will give us an additional supplement.
By the way, im not sure its not marked.
hopefully hindi will not be harder than last year :S

Ghost dude.. i think it is better not to write address in a informal letter... and it is given in the question if we have to write it.. also if the letter is formal we jst have to start with subject no address ... tell them about it
-
No marks awarded for the address

No marks awarded for the address
It's same other IGCSE language subjects as well, as far as I know, right? In english first lang. you dont need to have an address, just to start with Dear xyz, or they may even instruct you about it. Also same goes French, no marks for address.
-
yeah.. its right.. no need of addresses until it is told in the question
-
They gave an argumentative piece instead.
-
yeay.. nice.. they sometimes give letters.. or an essay is give like this time u got argumentative... how was the paper?
-
The paper was quite easy , i hope to get an a* . Oh and By the way you are allowed to take a supplement , even i took one cause i have a big handwriting

Did you take Hindi?
-
yup man in IGCSE!! now in A levels i didnt take it....
-
grade thresholds are very gud 4 getting A*
-
Got an A*.........By the way sum schools are sayin we'll get the marks this time. Will we? I dont think so.
-
Yes.....we got the percentage marks....
They make some complex calculations to get the grades but this time the thresholds were roughly the same that schools use for their grade classifications
From our class 5 got A*s and the corresponding percentage marks were 93,93,91,91,90
For A the marks were.....80,86,86,88
For B they were all in the 70s.........one guy got 79
For C they were in the 60s
I got 93......
Cheers

By Your Saying:
It is::
90 - 100 = A*
80 - 90 = A
70 - 80 = B
60 - 70 = C
50 - 60 = D
40 - 50 = E
30 - 40 = F
20 - 30 = G
and 20- = Ungraded (U)
though mine very disappointing work in Hindi!!
-
Yes, roughly that..........although they break the marks into listening and reading/writing
Cool that they started giving %age marks
-
They get it in only specified countries.
-
I too got an A* (93%).

Nobody can predict accurately what will come in the exams. Just practice more and you should be fine.
