ny1 studyin IGCSE DnT can plzz tll m d purpose of a tolerance band in the resistor ???
i hv no clue to it.....
n i need d answer urgently...plzzzzz
Thanks..

It is a measure of how accurate the stated resistance is. Normally a resistance has 3 or 4 bands. The 1st 3 show the value of the resistance. If there is no 4th band the accuracy is +-20%, a silver 4th band means an accuracy of +-10% and a gold band +-5%.

Do we have to know it in our IGCSE physics syllabus??
