Hey guys!
I'm having trouble with Question no. 8 in June 2002/ P2 & no. 6 in Nov. 2002 / Paper 2
M/J 2002: Q8
I need help in part (a) iii
------
O/N 2002: Q6
I managed to solve everything but part C.
----
To calculate the force on the electron, I used F=EQ.
F= 5x1.6x10-19
But in the mark scheme it was :
5x104x1.6x10-19
I don't understand where the 104 came from.
Thanks in advance!

Nov 02 Q6
E=V/d
d is in cm...u have to convert it to standard unit m first..
E=400/0.8X10-2=5X104 Vm-1

1/400 +1/400....x X =1/40
X/400=1/40
X=10
OR

U can figure out any such combination
i could come up with these
look at the diagram to see how you would represent it
