Post by: xxemoxx on January 29, 2010, 01:29:27 pm
Find the volume when the region bounded by the graphy of y=f(x), the y-axis and the lines y=c and y=d is rotated about the y-axis to form a solid of revolution

f(x) = 1/x + 2
c=3, d=5

\int^5_3 x^2 dy =\int^5_3\frac {1}{(y-2)^2} dy =[\frac {-1}{y-2} ]^5_3 =-1/3 +1=2/3
