I use the book provided by Edexcel, it is the only book that you can use.
This is the link for downloading the spec:http://www.edexcel.com/migrationdocuments/GCE%20New%20GCE/International-spec-Chemistry.pdf (http://www.edexcel.com/migrationdocuments/GCE%20New%20GCE/International-spec-Chemistry.pdf)
Thats all there is.

For AS you should do unit 1 , 2 & 3B [alternative to practical]
For A2 : unit 4 , 5 & unit 6B
I used this book for AS: http://www.edexcel.com/resources/pages/viewItem.aspx?item=36
You can use this book for A2: http://www.edexcel.com/resources/pages/viewItem.aspx?item=321
Check out this spec for units 1,2,4,5 : http://www.edexcel.com/migrationdocuments/GCE%20New%20GCE/spec-gce-chemistry.pdf
The Dude 321 had posted the spec for units 3 n 6

yup same as me, my college use pearson and hodder publisher
pearson is more to applications and long winded stury that we have to extract the main point by ourselves
my lecturer dont like both AS and A2 pearson publisher
AS got a lot of wrong explainations and pictures.
