Wats the difference between the codes?

8436 and 9694??

and which papers shud i appear for paper 1,2,3,4??

is there something like core and extended in Thinking skills??

8436 is the old one.......now its 9694
and when do u want to appear? for AS its paper 1 and 2 while for A level its 1,2,3,4
