Hi guys!
as you know, after correcting the exam papers of any board exam
the result mark is just taken from them, but the corrected exam papers are not returned to the student
can anyone tell me, why this is so?
the student can understand he/her's errors by reading the examiner's doubts and improve, right?
also, if the exam papers are never returned to the student, what happens to them?

lol, i'm surpised
this forum is one of the most active, which i've seen, but this topic seems to bring no answers....does a nod like astro know, or does no one know the answer?

um im not exactly sure y they dont return the papers.....maybe astar or someone else knows.....but i think they keep the papers for a few years and then burn them or something :P

returning the papers, the board has to spend a lot of money, and since we are all international students, it would be way to expensive for the cheapos at edexcel and Cambridge to give the papers.
-
but, to say the truth, we the candidates pay the cash to write these papers, so it means that CIE would not incur any losses, they can just send it direcly to the candidates by normal mail, which is not very expensive

Exactly. I have no idea what I did wrong in paper 3 physics last May/June exams. I thought I was getting a B or something, and yet I got a U for it. I'm pretty sure I did most things right and I didn't even ask for help from the invigilators.
???
I'm retaking Physics and I wouldn't be surprised if I do get another U for paper 3 : I have no idea where I did wrong!

They dont give the papers so that students dont go comparing their answers and saying its not fair that this person got this marks or whatever..complaining and all.
-
wot??! dats even more unfair!!
U know wot? I bet they use our answers as exemplars in study guides and stuff
(you know how sometimes in study guides they have an example of a student's answer and what part is wrong etc)
-
And if they got in idiot to mark it you will never know.
-
hahaha Yes exactly Astar....
and they are so generous in IGCSE..they give u an A/A* while u deserve a C...
I didnt study for my ICT and got an A :P

i so agree.. man i dont know about any other country, but we pay about NZ$100 per subject in IGCSE!! that's more than NZ$600 for all my IGCSEs!!! TT
(sorry i couldn't convert the currency to something more universal.. there's too many nationalities in sf to do so!! :P :P)
-
Yeah, I also paid a lot! My school told me that each subject costs 25 British Pounds and of course we also have to pay 20 Pounds for the registration or whatever! I still wonder where I went wrong. ???
I hope I'm not getting another U for paper 3.

i had to pay
475 for a paper, and 50 dhs for postal (each paper)
so 525 for each paper
i took 7 subjects
525 x 7
and i had to pay additional 150 for english orals
so
150 + (525 x 7)
