Q8.Do u have test for gases?

Identification of gases is attached in his previous post.

Thanks and good job, Q80. Needed these for the upcoming practical. :)

........ Needed these for the upcoming practical. :)
Why??
They already give the chart for identifying both ions at the back of exam paper.
I think all u gotta do is copy the exact wording from that chart into observation!
Which exam board u guys doin?? If its CIE then are u takin paper 33s on 29 oct?

33.

I think dehydration will come up as it should have come in May June.

2nd question....which dehydration? u think there i'll b 3 questions? cos in m/j 09paper 31 there wer 3 questions...so mayb paper 33 will hav 2 ques. i hope these cie r not gonna give us H2O2!!
THat chemical does nuffin!

why what's h2o2? and what good is it?

hydrogen peroxide - gets decomposed fast. like really fast in hot climate- schools can't store it carefully
so turns to water in a jiffy...and wat good is water in practicals but for drinkin!

mayb there won't b any sodium thiosulfate this time! :P

I feel there will be 3 questions myself.

How do you prepare for a practical anyway? The efficient way. I do it wrong, I know. Any tips brawla?

man i hope not 3 questions   =(
i think there will b just 2
cos every session in a year has 3questions in either may or nov but not both. its a pattern

Since m09 had 3questions...prob. n09 will hav 2questions.

check out: http://www.knockhardy.org.uk/sci.htm (http://www.knockhardy.org.uk/sci.htm)
look for notes; error & measurement , mole calc. and some other rate rxn stuff

i don't think rate of rxn will cum this tym...mayb somethin on enthalpy
look @ the booklet in https://studentforums.biz/index.php/topic,4454.0.html (https://studentforums.biz/index.php/topic,4454.0.html)
the last pages help

i'm afraid the the format may somehow change..
just like for my bio practicals, every year they have the same questions like asking for the errors, micrometry and blax3 but this time its completely different!!!
and they used to have 2 questions only but then this paper have 3!!  :o
so i really hope they don't change the format for chem prac  :-\

oops! ye hope so too! but was AS bio practical always 2 questions from 2007 - m2009??
in AS chem practicals it changes 2- 3 questions every session! and theres a pattern
anywayz i think wit 3questions the parts will b shorter & easier to solve  :P

yes it was always 2 question from 2007 til m/j 09..
so how many questions do u think there be for chem practical 29/10?  ;D

hmmm
as theres a pattern of 2-3 questions with 2007-may2009 chem practicals - esp. paper 31
i think there will b 2questions this paper 33
isn't paper 31 comparable to paper33 & paper 32 to paper 34?

I am certain there will be three questions.

They throw in a surprise question after the titration and before the cation/anion identification tests. :X

when there are bubbles in a solution, is it necessarily CO2?
Title: Re: Chemistry Analysis Tables

Can be any gas. Look at the gas tests. Usually ammonia, CO2, NO2, SO2 or H2. I think.

not necessarily but mostly it is...
Just see the chart on all paper 31s in page 12 -test for gases...that confirms it

they'll give the chart on paper33

I def, think they'll b 2questions with hard parts!! its a pattern they must b followin =P

What pages of the AS Practical Booklet are important?

Please let me know.

Thanks.
