Title: Functions(IGCSE Maths)
Post by: @d!_†oX!© on October 24, 2009, 09:55:37 am
The question gives us a graph for f(x), where f(x) = sin x.
It says that we have to sketch the graph of g(x) where g(x) = 1-sinx
how do u do that???

and besides this how do we do questions similar to this like
sketch the graph of f(kx), f(x) + k , kf(x) and all when the graph for f(x) and the value of k are given to us???

plsssss help.....asap!!!!!!!!! :-[ :-[

thanks in advance!!!!!! :) :)

1) Could u plz provide me with a past paper question. year/paper no./ etc.

2) What is the scale of the x-axis in the sinx curve. is it in radians or degree?

k first make the table for f(x) = sin x (x = 0,90,180,270,360)

next make the table for g(x) = 1-sin x (x=0,90,180,270,360)

u can use the f(x) values in g(x) like this g(x) = 1- f(x)

--

after having the table ready ..plot them..

the final graph should look somehing like the 2nd image

thanks adi...i really appreciate this....
@priyu i have this book form David Rayner nd its called " General mathematics, Revision and Practice "

hey adi cud u plss answer my other question as well....
PS for every single question will we have to make a table and plot the graph...even when it just tells us to sketch....there must be some shorthand method....

making tables is ot a tedious task..it looks a little complicated thats it...like i said .. u can see and understand the questoin..like here...u can use one function in the other to make it easy.!!

@priyu - yes..i'm giving it..
