A=(p + 4q, p-q ) and B=(p - 3q, p ) so B-A=(-7q,q) Then distance=sqrt((-7q)^2+q^2)=5q sqrt(2)

I thought it was the length from the first point to the second.

Are there 2 lines? Both from the origin? Or only one from one point to another? If the second i am sure i was right.

It should be like this
sqrt((p-3q-p+4q)^2+(p-p-q)^2)
= sqrt((q)^2+(-q)^2

sqrt(((p-3q)-(p+4q))^2+((p)-(p-q))^2)=sqrt((p-3q-p-4q)^2+(p-p+q)^2)=sqrt((-7q)^2+q^2)=sqrt(50q^2)=5q sqrt(2)
