Click your username or profile.
On lthe left follow the links down until you get to the "Forum Profile Information" link.
Click on that, then you are off to the races!

but sir i did tht.. nd when i put it up it waznt animated .. it was just like a normal pic..  :-\

I know but actually putting up an animated avatar is the same as any avatar. I thought about it this afternoon

Uploading is better. Every time people post a link to an image it takes an extra second for the page to load cos a request has to be sent to the server the image is on, wherever it is, and the the image has to be loaded, which takes as long again
