Title: helpful chemistry remarks?
Post by: omar abbassy on June 11, 2009, 12:27:23 pm
i think most ppl know them but just in case:
*all nitrates are soluble
*all chlorides are soulble except silver chloride and lead chloride
*all sulphates are soluble except barium sulphate and lead slphate
*all hydroxides and carbonates are INSOLUBLE except sodium, potassium and ammonium salts
*all oxides are INSOLUBLE except sodium potassium and calcium
*impure water has a lower melting point and higher boiling point
*ionic compounds are more soluble than covalent
*distillation=evaporation then condensation
*calcium carbonate reacts with acid rain= co2
*cuso4.5h20+heat=dehydration+endothermic,colour change from blue to white
*when a metal nitrate is heated with aqueous sodium hydroxide then heated ammonia produced
*copper reacts with CONCENTRATED sulphuric acid to give so2
hope i helped
