cud sum1 explain the nitrifying denitrifying nitrogen fixing bacteria?
wat does the nucleus in every body cell of a male contain?
X allele
y allele
y chromosome
y gene
Denitrifying bacteria is the bacteria that undo the work done by nitrifying bacteria. They turn nitrates & ammonia in the soil to nitrogen gas, which goes into the atmosphere.
In a male nucleus, there are 46 XY chromosomes. Allele - X Allele - Y
hope that helps xD

its y chromosome

its y chromosome
How?
-
is there anyone that did literature??
-
an allele.. could be anything..
like height or skin colour or watever..
but the chromosome is specified with the sex cells if u kno wat i mean..
like its either X chromosome for female or Y for male..
it cant be allele!!!
-

nitrogen cycle??!?!!
-
k nitrogen cycle very easy
first:
there is 79% of nitrogen in air which is inert i.e. doesnt react....but then some oragnisms need nitrogen to live so hw do they use it ??
this is done by the decomposers..turning nitrogen in a very usefull or in reactive form is calld nitrogrn fixation..
first lightin causes the nitrogen to react with oxygen to form its oxides..then they idssolve in rain and are washed into the soil where the decomposers convert it into nitarates or NH3....nw nitrogen-fixin bacteria they use nitorgen gas form the air n combine it with other sustances to make nitrtes n other usefull compounds...there is another bacteria who does teh opposite it converts the nitrates into nitrogen gas....its calld denitifyin bacteria...
n also these bacteria they breakdown the waate of naimal into nitarates too
phew anewho hope this helps n i think this is enuf for nitrogrn cycle
WHISH ME LUCK MY XAM IN 1 HR :s

LUCK ;D

can someone explain transpiration ?
and the functoin on phloem?
Thank You
transpiration is when the plant loses water throgh the leaves in the form of water vapour
it is reduced due to presence of the waxy cuticle but can not be stopped
their are 5 factors affecting transpiration
1-humidity
2-temperature
3-stomata
4-light intensity
5-surafce area
phloem is made of livivg cells arranged end to end with cross walls wid pores
it has nucleus and cytoplasm
its main function is the transport of sugars in the form of sucrose from ares of manufacture to areas of utilization
hope this helps
-
Thanks man ;D

so if there was high humidity high temps etc
the rate of transpiration increases?

Transpiration is the loss of water vapour from the plant from the stomata of the leaves..
Hey noemi :p

Plz ppl wat is the answer for nov 02 numbers 11 and 29 plz reply asap i have an exam in 1 hr pllzz

Someone plz help:
O/N 2007, paper 1, Question No.31
Please explainhowto do it.... ???please...
the answer is C because it is asking for the ratio of the phenotype and genotype i.e how many pairs of offspring have the same phenotype and how many pairs of offspring have the same phenotype.

kam
-------
Humidity : alot of humidity makes transpiration slow
Light: more light more transpiration
Temperature : high temp means more transpiratoins
Area: larger area means more transpiration
-
translocation,, explain please? :'(
-
translocation,, explain please? :'(
It is the process inside the leaf inwhich glucose is changed to sucrose and transported to all parts of the plant (from the leaf) through the phloem!
