anyone has biology practical booklet?
-
yh i got it....it has P3 n P5 in it....y?
-
hi guys ..... wt kinda things to do for paper 5 biology ....................... chi-square test is must ......................is t-test in our syllabus ...............what to do except these tests............ thnxx.
-
its really a tricky paper cuz da percentile is really low in it....if u score 18 out f 30 tht means u gt an A grade and do luk at all da designs tht hav been cum in recent yrs
-
never mind z..i got it already.huhu...yeah the Qs got trickier..wooo
-
any1 got a link to that booklet????????pls
-
Ummm. i have this one but the title is teaching a2 students practical skill ( i think it's for teacher..)
http://freeexampapers.com/FreeExamPapers.com_.php?__lo=QSBMZXZlbC9CaW9sb2d5L0NJRS9SZXNvdXJjZXMvOTcwMF95MDdfcHNfNS5wZGY=
is this the booklet u're looking for?
if not, what's the title of the booklet?
i'll look it up for both of us....
-
Ne idea wht kinda plannin qstn can cum di yrs bio p5??? ???
-
any idea wht they will give fr the designing experiment?
-
read all parts marked * in the biology syllabus. the questions will be around that topic only. ;) find some experiments around that topics
-
hey...i'm kinda confused...to determine dependent &n independent variable...someone can teach me??
one example...let's say in an experiment, we want to know the effect of several solution on size of stomata...we use several solution, and it's said that the concentration needs to be trialled depending on the leaves used(umm...why??)...what's the independent &dependent variable??
-
the dependent variable is the dry leaf...as its written in the question...and the independent variable is time...as the time taken for the solution to effect the leaf cant be controlled.
-
ummm....
why the leaf? and what do you mena by th eleaf? the size?type?
-
yeaa but i want to knw wht u guys thnk is gna come..like most probably?..a chi squared test?..respirometer?...or ny type of graphs?.
-
independent variable is alwas the x axis in the graph...and dependent variable y axis...so whatever ur independent variable is your dependent variable will change accordingly!!
And chi squred jst knw that what if the chi squared value is above ur probality at 0.05% then difference between observed and expected is significant...n if its less its not significant and more due to chance...... ;)
PLANNINGS GNA B HARD!!!!nov 2008.....nt answers tht can b jst guesd at a time like tht!!!
-
dude i think ur wrong abt the chi square...
if the value lies in the range ABOVE 0.05 it is said the the difference is not significant and the null hypothesis is accepted
while if it is below 0.05, the chance that the difference is caused by random error is only 5% so the null hypothesis is rejected...and we get that the difference is caused by a certain factor other than experimental error.
check it here: http://biologymad.com/
-
anyone manage to calculate the standard deviation and stdrd error in sp07?
-
well dude u bta check up the cie bio text book.........it says tht if it is greater the difference is significant....n less meanin mre due to chnce n it is not significant
-
anione in pakistan around
-
@ naffy...can u do the standard deviation now???
-
if u have the markscheme gimme the answer...dont feel like opening it...was the s.e for A 17.2...hit me back ASAP
-
sorry 354 rather
-
A s= 2.23, SM =.1.58;;
B s= 2.49, SM = 0.79;;
did u get the ans?
-
hey even cie book says the same....if the probability obtained is greater than 0.05 (5%)...which includes 0.1 ,0.2..this means it is not significant(due to chance) and if we get a probability that is less than 0.05 it means its significant(not due to chance)....this the the chi square test....if its the t-test....if the value obtained is greater than the critical value it is significant.......
-
if the value obtained is greater than the critcal value it is less than o.05?
-
how do u calculate the degrees of freedom n the probablity?:S
-
u guyz check out de syllabus for 09 or 08 tis dere de equations and all in the end. de t test eqn as well as de chi square tests... i have no idea wat to study 4 this exam i thnk u get all de answers by luck :-\
-
anybody did the paper? please tell
my frnd realyu needs help
-
yeh sumone must have done the paper..especially malaysia, pakistan
-
hehe..i've done it
-
then please tell the topic... i got exam in 20 minutes..plz
plz
plz
-
hey so i just found out watde heck chi square implies nd id like 2 share it wid u guyz hope tis not too late
the probability shows us to wat degree it is by chance. this means dat out of 100 ppl 5 ppl are having it by chance
so if the chi square value is more than 0.05 tis due to chance
if it is less than 0.05 it is significant
gonna go now for de exam starts in an hour
BEST OF LUCK!!! ;)
-
hey supersuper just tell whether it ws easy or not?
-
yes please tell... :( :(
-
ummm..i must say i wasted my time on the booklet...
it's useless...
seriously....
-
for me the test is quite difficult
when can we start discussing? i want to make sure that my answer is right...
-
hw wz it??
-
as i say above...for me it's quite difficult
but no worries...there's nothing too complicated..
my friends are doing well...so..
i hope u'll do well^^
-
pleasee telll nmeee
-
just forget everything u memorized last night...it'll be useless..
hahaha...better relax urself and just face the question...
i tell you..it's simple question
but sorry i can't tell u the question..
afraid that something bad will happen to me
-
and for you who's worried about planning...
geez... let me tell you something..
the planning part is the easiest out of 3 questions
-
nothing bad will happen
-
umm...
i hope so...^^
really calm urself down
comeback here when ur done doing ur exam , k?
-
i am not giving the exam my fnrds are they need help! ;D
-
i'm super super sorry...i can't tell...no
but if your friend can do the P4 test
i guarantee he/she'll do just fine in this one
again no need to worry..
this paper is only 15% of the total score
and last year threshold for A is only 18 out of 30
it's not that hard to reach..
just tell your friend to think clearly...because again..the question is not complicated
u only need to really really understand the question before u answer anything..
-
cud any gv me topics on biology p5 plsssssssssssss
-
paprs wr easy.....ntn to wry abt....
-
i gave it and even though everyones was awesum might didnt go tht well
-
mine*
-
paprs wr easy.....ntn to wry abt....
wat was the degree of freedom..? and the low standard deviation values show more accuracy right?

i repeat- *read the abv quote ppl* :P
-
38 was the degree of freedom...!! ;)
-
yeh but me n my stupidness is never gna end...i wrote 19
-
38 degrees of freedom?? ....what?
Are you talking about the pH question?
-
38 was the degree of freedom...!! ;)
38?! i wrote 1! whered you get 38 from?! or 19?...theres only two ph being considered...!
-

38?! i wrote 1! whered you get 38 from?! or 19?...theres only two ph being considered...!
it wz sed in d ques......readings ver taken at HOURLY intervals for 20 HRZ!!! dt mnz 40 readings ver taken
bt i wrote 39 ???
-
The degree of freedom was one!!
Two pH values were tested, so 2-1=1!!!!
RIGHT?! :o :'(
-
degree of freedom for t test is (n-1)+(n-1) right? with n=no of data for 1 ph. so the ans is 38.

:o ok ok i believe you!
dont shout in bold letters man...im not THAT blind- damn thats an understatment considering the stupid mistake..ugh... :-[
-
degrees of freedom is 38.....total 40 taken..its a t test thts caried out..not chi squared...for t test degrees of freedom is n-2
