In a nut shell>>>>
Follicle stimulating hormone is secreted by the pituary gland
Fsh along with Luteinizing hormone acts on the ripe follicle and stimulates maturation and the release of the ovum(egg) from the ovary

and if a woman cant ovulate, she is given the FSH, but only the right amount amount should be prescribed, otherwise she produces many eggs at once and becomes pregnent with twins or triplets or more than that

Lutenizing hormone:causes ovulation by stimulating the maturation of ripe follicle nd helps in the formation of corpus luteum which secretes progesterone

hope that helped
