There is probablity question on pg3 question 3 (a) and (b)...can someone plz help me as i totoaly suck in probablity... :-[ :'(
-
ooooh, tht paper is hard man
Ill be finishing it off later on 2day
Ill probaby let u know then :D
By the way, for P2, the locus Question- we hd to draw parallel lines, who did tht ?
-
thx for your help....yea tht was confusing and i had less time...
-
its k, but I didnt help :P
so wot did u do fr tht question then ?
-
In paper 2... the locus thing
I drew two angle bisectors... one horizontal and the other vertical.
The parallel lines are wrong!
-
angle bisectors !?!!
noooo mate ..
how do u know parallel lines r rong ?
-
well i did the (a) part
(i) P=1/3
q=3/8
r=6/8
s=2/8
but i wanted to verify it whether its correct or not...the (b) part i have no idea how to do
-
(ii) 5/12
(iii) 5/18
-
any help in october novmeber 2008 paper...tell me...i will try my best to help
-
okk.,
your a)i) answers are correct...By the way...r=6/8...=3/4 (lowest terms, always)
a)ii) is correct but a)iii) ...the answer is 2/3
a)iii) A white ball can pop up from bag A OR bag b
the probability of white ball from bag A is (2/3 * 5/8)
the probability of white ball from Bag B is (1/3*3/4)
soo u add them up because its OR....i.e (2/3*5/8)+(1/3*3/4)...= 5/12 + 1/4 = 2/3
:) :) hope u understood

in paper 2 locii question, the answer is two/four angle bisectors, one on top, on left, right, down... or just one vertical and one horizontal. i am 100% sure of this.... i did it wrong though, i made only one line...
the question:
draw the locii for all points equidistant from line AC and line BD (whatever the letter were) inside the quadrilateral ABCD.
the drawing was something like this: (ascii art, i suck at it...)
A\------------ B
\ /
\ / there were already lines between A and C, and between B and D, just its too hard to draw them
\ / on this diagram, because there are only a few different symbols for slants, none work... (/\)
D \------ C
