Title: AS Chemistry

Hi guys ,

im thinking of taking AS chemistry Unit 1 this january with one of the best teachers here , personal tuition and starting from this saturday for 3 hours a week

so do you think it is possible to finish the course in almost 12-15 saturdays ?

of ALL Chemistry Units that are Easy to Understand and shortest in terms of Syllabus is Unit 1. BUT it needs a lot of practice (to get used to the pattern of the Questions) and you need to grasp the Concepts VERY WELL to score HIGH grades.

I suggest you don't COMPLETELY rely on your Tutor [ I've been  taking tuition for the past hmm 2-3 years so I know what I'm talking about here ;) ], you should try to study to understand the lessons on your OWN before going to class by reading Revision guides and notes [Available somewhere in THIS site] and do Past Papers on Your OWN [topic wise or whatever] {even if he/she says I'mma do PPs with you , for me I don't 100 % Rely on them cuz I'm sure they've got LOADS of Other Students just like ME i.e. they might not have enough time to practice with ME ;) } ,Collect/save  your doubts for Saturdays to ask your Tutor about it[ Spend about 10 minutes asking him about your doubts , if you take more some will throw a shoe at you => JK it's just a ta3beer majazee ::) :P but they are Scary 'some of them ::) ' ]

Kimo, yes it is possible.
I'm doing the same here too with a good teacher, and she told us that she will finish Unit 1 in 7 periods (1 period = 1hr 30mins)
and according to what she said, we will finish Unit 1 this saturday, only Organic chem is left ;D

Plus 1month (4/5 periods) for solving.
thats about 12 Saturdays, I also go on saturdays :P

Unit 1 Chemistry is really the most easiest unit., I my-self finished in 2 weeks,, Organic part it from Ig mostly., .. so it goes on..

I found organic chem in Unit 1, easier than that of IGCSE.

Yea., i totally agree., don't ever go for a re-sit in June., they make the papers really confusing., do unit 1 in Jan 2012 or Jan 2013 ,.. + June got easier unit 2 papers..:P

Agreed. Doing it in Jan is much much better. :D
