i have decided on my first 3 AS level subjects (business, accounts , economics) but now im in another whole mess!
i cant decide between maths or computer!! i see both of them being a useful subject.
maths...i will be able to get help from my classmates n computer i enjoy!
maths...will help in my accounts and computer is good for business!! *sigh*
so could the maths and computer students help me out?
extra information!!: i dont have teacher for either of the subject so i will have to do self-study!!
does it mean i should just kill my pride and take 3 subjects!??

@SauD-- im going into either management or ACCA.....:S
:D u have already done AS maths??

Many different applications in commerce subjects have a link with Maths chapters. Computing needs some knowledge of maths too.

u took four right? was it difficult to manage?
nah
im just telling u to think twice before taking a step
ask urself this---->will i be able to manage 4 subjects?can i self-study 1 subject on my own?
plus its good to take 4 subjects, obviously
for me 4 was easy to take because i had really good teachers too!
-
By the way why do you want to take 4 AS,do you want to continue into A2 or not,I'm dropping all sciences and going for math A2 and ICT AL next year :)
By the way what the difference between computing and ICT,I'm self-studying as well,I'll be free most of the classes at school ;D
-
If you wish to take four subjects. If you have decided to take 4 subjects then go with the subject that interests you most.
You told that you will have to self-study, interest is most important thing while doing this. If math doesn't interest you then leave it, as an example if you are struck with a topic you will find ways to fly away from those topics. If it interests you then you will find solutions to your problems. You will do fine in your self-study without any teacher if you choose the subject that interest you most.

So ICT has programming,I'll have to take a look at both syllabuses then :D

good!
thats a good plan!

thats a good plan!
Which one interests you. It seems to be computing.
Now the battle between computing and ICT. As everyone said about both topics. I love programming, practicals, theory and all. Computing has an A2 Coursework, you can program your software and this coursework is worth 60 marks. I am doing computing, programmed my software in Visual Basic .NET-Access 2010, works fine with all database connectivity. You can even work on practicals while your course goes on.

^ ur right!
you did computing?? you can help me! :D
will it be difficult to study it on you own in AS?
i have never programmed anything on my own yet...my school is not that resourceful either!
i have done a short HTML program though! :)

The same case with me, I learned the full programming myself. It was all a type of self-study for me. ;)
It won't be difficult either.

^thanks! ;D
You are welcome. :D

computing for sure, because u mentioned that u enjoy studying computer (with respect to that you think both of them can be useful) so, it goes without saying that computing is the subject for which you looking. besides , in all of your life spam , listen to your logic with respect to your heart .and never vise-versa. gd luck ;)
-
thank u very much :)
thats great advice!! ;D

Hi, I just felt like offering my own opinion on this matter... I took AS Maths, and am about to take the AS exam in October. I find it really easy, basically because it was almost all a repetition of my secondary school maths. :) But then again, I love Maths, I don't know about you... :)
And it might be a little difficult for you to learn Maths without a teacher, and since you like computing so much, I suggest that you do what you like best, and enjoy it! ;)
-
thank you for your advice! :D
best of luck for your exam!
