You can never erase anyone from your life. Those you met..are never gone from our memory. Hating means holding grudges. Perhaps you aren't thinking of them 24/7 but when you remember how awful they were to you you get that heart aching and hate boiling like fire inside you.
I dislike perhaps. She is ARROGANT. I don't hate her, but I dislike her arrogance.
He is selfish. I don't hate him, but I dislike his selfishness.
Those who are evil got some good inside them too. And even if they don't..I have other matters in my life and I MUST make sure not to make them one of my matters. =]

I'm not going to lie to you and tell you I'm an angel! I feel hate but that's where I try my BEST to get rid of it, LIKE not hate of a person but perhaps when I hear 'Israel' I feel hate but however I can't hate an entire race or an entire country when I don't know every single person of them. I hate what Israel is doing but I can't hate peaceful citizens because some of them are against what their own country is doing.
There were those who back stabbed me before..those who hurt me and those who made me cry a lot. Now..I don't hate them for what they did to me, in fact I thank THEM. Wallah..I thank them because they taught me the BEST lessons in this life, they were one of the main reasons that I changed and became who I am now.
It's always good to turn the negative energy into a positive one. Hating them, regretting the past and holding grudges won't do me any good and surely won't get me what I want. If I dislike someone..I try to fix them but if doesn't work out..I simply stay away and never think of them again.

Yeah. They made me learn not to make anyone or anything in this life my priority except GOD. Everyone will leave at the end whether it was their choice or whether it wasn't but God? God never leaves.
I got the above concept, I learned the above concept because of THEM. Because of the trust they broke, the promises they never made and the lies that they made my hopes build on.
I truly thank them and now..I wish I could really tell them how much of use they were to me. Now, I don't feel slight of hate towards them at all. I swear.

Yes, Hate is worse than anger and i think hate is somewhat the root of anger, revenge etc.

@Stylish, make it a habit. It'll take 21 days perhaps until you start getting used to it.
To stop hating, you first need to forgive those who hurt you in the past. Any energy put forth in the way of hatred, guilt, envy, etc., expressed toward people who have hurt you is wasted energy. Spending time being upset and sad gives your power away to people who have hurt you. They control your feelings like this, because when they appear in front of you..you feel anger and when they go away you feel better. It's like they got the key to your own feelings and they know very well how to put you in a bad mood. Do NOT give your power away.
People come and go in our lives many times throughout our lifetime, spending time hating someone steals your happiness and time better spent on positive things. Also, that person who was careless enough to hurt you, isn't effected whatsoever by your hostile feelings, but you are miserable.
Forgive them, then move on. Someday you will thank them for making you strong. ;)
Just remember one thing : The hate will hurt you more than them. =]

I agree that hate is most harmful to the one harboring such an emotion. Negative emotions like envy, jealousy, hate, suspicion and hence any amount of grudges are like placing poison inside of your mind. However, to say that one can rid oneself of hate completely and be a loving being who loves everyone and everything...in my opinion, is a fatuous claim. Hate is the reciprocal of love and where there is love, there is hate.
The world is filled with a drastic variety of people, and we all have some principles, whether we conform to a religion or not. There will be people who do not conform to your beliefs and you learn to tolerate them, accept them as individuals who have made their choices. There will be people who work against you and your ideals, significantly harming material or abstract things significant to you or other human lives.
Can I love Hitler? No, frankly I can't. I can accept that the various theories about him being a sociopath, a schizophrenic and whatnot are true and like most psychopaths/serial killers, he's simply a sick guy who ended up doing horrible things out of his sickness, I still cannot love him because what he did to at least a couple of generations of the European and US community cannot be just ignored.
I'm not saying that one should go around tossing grenades at German people, because that's just plain stupid, but I believe in standing for your principles, defining them and protecting them. It's who I am and I can't deny it just because someone will have to look bad in my head. Hate is a very strong word and I've only used it for a few people, and never for people I know personally--because yes, it's a harmful poison. Just like war and any other aggressive state of mind or affairs. But you don't stop vouching for it simply because it can be detrimental; it serves bigger purposes and speaks for your values. At least, that's my take on hate.

Sometimes..I tell myself, maybe because I wasn't in the place of those who got their parents killed or their relatives killed by Hitlar I do not feel hate. I can feel their pain but surely not like they do 100%.
However, I haven't met someone who is awful so that's why perhaps I rarely ever felt hate. I treat people good so I don't expect them to ever hurt me since I always have limits with everyone in my life and if I sense that they are starting to hurt me..I either turn them good or stay away from them and ask God to be the judge.

Yes, hate is easy. I hate Hitler's acts but I don't hate Hitler himself.
Just because I don't hate many people doesn't mean I'm a naive and a weak person. I can tell the difference between the right and the wrong and if someone is doing the wrong I can always tell them to 'STOP' rather than wasting my time hating them and thinking of how to take revenge.
And you said hate is easy, not hating shows how strong person you are controlling your own emotions and feelings. Taking the difficult road as in.

Indecisive..no. I have my beliefs however I still believe I have a lot more to experience, but I'm certain I'll never allow myself to ever hate and waste my energy on hating someone one day. ;)

They are rich and they have the right to enjoy their life since they got enough money! They give their lives to the country, they take important decisions so they deserve a helicopter as a source of transportation not to be late for important appointments. :P

A bit of sacrifice is good. I hate it how people buy a new car every 5 years or go shooping for clothes that are only worn once. If we have to stop that it will be good for us.

A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.
So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.
Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.
The teacher asked: “How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?” The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said:
“This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime?”

Hatred and love are both emotions and both are useful at times.
If you hate the things that are bad, such as vices and injustice then you can use that ability to take action against it.
If you love things that are good, then thats great! :)
But if you hate something for no good reason, then you are wasting your time. Go do something useful.

I am not the atheist. Bird evolved from another kind of birds from the Jurassic era according to a certain source. Mutation in other words. God knows what happened during the transition period. If there was a meteorite explosion then perhaps animals would have evolved to a species that would survive the radiation effects. Isn't this what Quran is all about. The verses in Quran are a testament to the evolutionary way God has created everything.
A wise person will take full advantage of what ever emotions he has. You can be a hateful person and yet still accomplish many things. Case in point, Alexander who had a severe hate of Persians which eventually made him a king of Macedonia. Just saying

when you have suffered and been held in misery terrible at the hands of other people,hate is something that develops in the persons heart.when you experience something like that only then will you learn how hate cannot be ignored and its not an emotion that can be suppressed easily.i have been through this,and maybe unintentionally or delibrately,i cant let go of hate ,because maybe thats what helps me face the person and bear the pain,and once it is gone,i wil be forced to deal with pain.

That's an idea. Spend all day in bookshops and library crossing out all occurrences of the word hate and replacing them with love, all occurrences of the word war and replacing them with peace etc.

Hate is a bit like disgust. Disgust makes us avoid things with germs in and hate makes us avoid people who harm us. In that sense hate is healthy.

hatred is a part of life. but anything in excess or out of limits can be harmful for the peace of mind and for the society. some guys deserve to receive hatred. you mostly hate when you don't get what you expect from others. somebody cheats you, or you get to know the hypocracy of someone. when you don't get your right then hatred steps in. sometimes people hate due to their personal likings and disliking which might not be rational, logical and immoral. simply hating unnecessarily is the most lame thing one could do to waste time.
i think it really takes a big heart to forgive and let go things which develop sheer hatred inside you. a rethink and reassess over issues of life might help to overcome these kind of extreme emotions. if you know that you were right and it wasn't your fault then you shouldn't hate someone. life is brief so better invest time on things which matters most to you. better spend time helping someone or discovering about different areas of life.
sometimes revenge is sweet so watching for the suitable time and doing your catharsis on those who did wrong may help.
