can someone answer this --
when a halogenoalkane is reacted with NaOH , what products are formed, when it is pure (NaOH), alcoholic, and aqueous..
thank you

Reaction of halo-alkanes with :
(i) concentrated alcoholic alkali under reflux condition gives alkenes.
(ii) dilute aqueous alkali gives alcohols.
For those who have already given Paper 2 (any variant) of chemistry - NO DISCUSSION UNTIL 24 HOURS have passed by.
Thank you.
