Title: Parity blocks-computing
Post by: Dasith on May 09, 2011, 03:43:00 am
Can someone explain the use , & how parity is calculated in a block of data + how parity is calculated in parallel parity ?

Just need to remember how a parity works in detecting error in transmission, nothing else for AS.

You check it. :P

I already checked. Only we should know the use of parity check because of parity bit(s).

check 1.5 Data transmission and networking

e)
recognise that errors can occur in data transmission; explain the use of parity checks, echoing and
check sums in detecting and correcting these errors, and the use of parity blocks to aid self checking

Read A Level Computing.

It says about even parity and odd parity checks. Parity bit is before MSB. ;)
