Okay and either out of Imperial College and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign(USA)...which one is better... i noe rankingwise Imperial is at da top but Urbana for EEE and Computing also comes 3rd in USA.... the only thing attracting me towards Urbana... moreover the US system is the flexibility and transparency in the education system... the way u can take credits and select ur courses how u want whereas in UK there is a more rigid system with a fixed syllabus... wat do u guys suggest...

Universities in the UK having a fixed syllabus is a myth.

Yes, for the first year, they do. But from then onwards (2nd and 3rd year), you're usually able to select your modules and specialize.

Also check the tutuion fees in the US. They are usually more than UK institutions though they may offer scholarships.

Choosing the right university can be a daunting task and if you are vaguely into science/technology and expect to achieve AAB or A-levels chances are that you might be considering Imperial. In Imperial College you are being taught by top-quality people. For more information you may get reference from here http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/online-college.aspx (http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/online-college.aspx)

Might be off topic. but allow me to ask. when applying to ucas, we must apply before 15 Jan right? and even earlier for oxbridge? the problem arises if i take edexcel alevel and my examination is in jan but my results are out in march. wont i miss the deadline? so does that mean i will have to wait for the next application to open to apply? can i use my forecast results instead?

If you are giving your exam on january, when filling your UCAS Apply form, you should enter the subjects you will appear on January 2012 and select "Pending" for their grades. You will have to select the date of qualification too - March, that is. Because your results will be out in March. The universities will understand that you will appear for your A level (or whatever qualification you select), whose results will be out by March.

You will not, therefore, miss the deadline because you haven't taken your exam yet.

For oxbridge the deadline is 15th October.

You cannot enter forecast results in the UCAS Apply. You will have to select pending. However, while filling your references, you can persuade your referee to enter your predicted grades.

The top universities (like Warwick, Reading etc) still require IELTS with minimum of 6.0 for most. But most universities will accept if you have got more than C in English Language, O level. To confirm, check the "English Language Requirements" section of the university website you intend to apply to.

To + rep, click on the Heart icon on the left hand side of my post. Ensure that "I agree" is selected. Click Okay.

cheers! :)

Now apart from university considerations in terms of ranks and syllabus... I am planning to settle in the USA... so is it better to UG at Imperial and Graduate in USA or starting off in USA will give me a better edge by going to UIUC

Another thing is which of these uni's has a better campus life and student life and also extra-curricular and sport options
