Most good universities will require you to give SAT I. The best ones will require SAT II as well.

No, IELTS will not act as a substitute for SAT. For most universities you will have to achieve at least 6 in IELTS to qualify. Some courses (like journalism) have  a higher requirement - around 8.

And yes, try to match your A/AS level subject with the degree you wish to pursue. For example, for a degree in business administration, try to keep economics/business studies or accounting in A/AS level.

Hey Abod,
Amelia's right you  need to give your SAT's before applying there. You live in Kuwait right? So u must be knowing that u need to give an entrance exam to enter in IIT right?
Similarly, the SAT's is like a quickcheck for them to see where you stand according to their level. And if you are an indian student, trust me it wont be that hard.
Plus if u want to go to an university there, giving an SAT will be a bonus for u no matter if u r American or from any other country.
All the best,
and hope u get into the college u like

You can take the TOEFL instead of the SAT if you are not a first language speaker. However, you will need to take SAT II subject tests. Also there are few Unis that take the TOEFL as an alternative to the SAT.

Hope that answers your question.

Students would like to go to the U.S. for further education because there they would get global exposure in their  chosen career field. The quality of education provided by the universities and colleges in the U.S. is very good than anywhere else in the world. US universities and colleges have excellent quality on their facilities, resources and faculty. US accreditation systems ensure that institutions continue to maintain all their standards.
