However, you dont need to know this in IGCSE, this is required A Level.

You only need to know the properties of the transition elements. Also, that they form simple ions with more than one oxidation states. For example, Cu⁺ (Cu(I)) and Cu₂₊, in compounds such as Cu₂O and CuSO₄
