guys i'll be appearing for exams in this coming May,and i'm kinda stuck in some optional units of A-level mathematics
like it's mandatory to have C1,C2,C3 and C4 + any two units right,so i'm very confused here,i'm gonna stick to S1 as its easy and mechanics is what i don't like but i want good marks too of course
i'd very grateful if anyone could help me a little here
thanks :)

S2 isnt easier. Its a lot more harder.
M1 is different.... but once you grasp the principles everything is easy.
-
I'm doing S2... What is your subject combination? And what are you planning to study at uni?
Which of the two is easier is normative, it depends on you, and only you.

She's talking about edexcel maths.
They have S1,S2,S3 and S4

Nay boy... :)
I mean... Natural sciences/ Social sciences/ Art? The field she's in.

M1 ain't tough if u're a physics student. I did S2, I suppose both are ok. It depends on you.
-
It really depends on you.
Anyway we can still help you identify the one you're most comfortable with. ;)
First thing, M1 resembles physics a lot. Therefore if you've done it upto O-level, it is enough for you to understand it and you'll be able to cope with it tremendously well and of course achieve high marks.
However if you never liked physics, then I'll advice you to go for S2. Both M1 and S2 are almost of the same difficult. Especially if you did statistics at O-level, then most certainly S2 should be your choice.

well as been said above,M1 depends alot on physics :)
assuming tht u hv already don ur AS physics i recommend u to do M1 because it'z very similar to mechanics part in AS physics.frthermore M1 is very easy once da basic concepts r graspd well and if ur planing to engineering, specialy mechanical engineering, M1 helps alot and puts more points than doin S2.
But on the other hand,u hv already done S1,so S2 shld be very easy to u cause S2 depends alot on S1 which u hv don @ AS.actually in S2 has been officialy taken as Further maths @ my collge to give M1 as the maths unit fr non-Further maths students! :)
So it's all about wat ur good at,did u get good marks @ S1 than fr physics 1?? than do S2 else do M1 :D

ohh okayy..well i take science and love physics
i heard from most of my senior friends that no matter how hard u practice,u'll end up with blankness when u have ur exam paper in front of u lol :-\
s1 seemed easy to me,n thats the reason i thought of moving ahead to S2,but again basic units would be easier
anyway thank ya'll so much, really appreciate ur replies :) ..i think i can now conclude
wish me luck

In that case M1 will be just a piece of cake for you. ;)

Not if you prepare yourself well, mentally. :D

Sure.........S1 is easy but S2 is a lot more than that. :)
You're welcome :)
Best of luck for your studies. ;)

If you are short of time, its best to take M1. Most of the stuff, you have already covered in IGCSE Math.
Good luck.
