I have 9As In O Levels And 4As In A Levels
What Kind Of SAT Scores And Extracuriculars do I need to get into this university? P.S Are my o and a level scores okay for this university.
-
Going through immigration will put you off going to yale
-
That's okay I was born In the U.S, and am currently now in the city school, karachi. Do I have any chance of Getting into Yale?
-
You never know with universities. This year a girl from LGS got into Harvard with 9a's in o levels 3a's in a levels and 1900 SAT score!
But Yale demands leadership qualities. If you're head boy at your school, you have a better chance of getting in.
P.S. I was also in City until recently! Now in KGS though.

hey there
how u all doin?
would a person with a 2350 SAT have a good chance of getting into yale?/
(good grades, not so good extracurricular.... dont have the opportunities to volunteer much overe here)
-
Your SAT score is very good but that is not all that counts. This year our headboy got rejected even though he had 2330 in SAT 1 and 2400 in SAT 2. Leadership again is very important. PS the guy was also very good in debating. Our deputy got in though with 110% scholarship!

What do I need to do to show the Yale University people that I have good leadership skills?
-
get into ur school's prefect body.
-
1. How Can I become a Prefect In A Levels
And 2. What If I Cannot Become A Head Prefect?
-
If ur school has elections, be nice to everyone and socialise. If ur school has selection, suck up to teachers who count. ;)
-
do they take ppl with warrior like quality. i mean not the bravery, the confidence, communicating, having the great will power, and hope. etc

Having straight A's in all of your subjects is not everything that you need. Heck, I can easily list out a lot people in different schools having the same academic capabilities. Universities like MIT, Harvard, Yales, or Stanford get a lot of applicants every year, and I'm sure that most of them have really good grades.
My point is, they (universities listed above) look for people with special & rare capabilities (someone that believes in change) which are shown to them from your non-academic activities. Apart from that, your essay plays a very strong role that reflects your thoughts and aim; your interview of course will somewhat let them know a little bit about your personality.
On the other hand, having strong leader-ship skills is not everything either. You are special and different from everyone else so you have to show that to them. If you deserve to get into Yales then you will, if you get deferred then apply again.
Just be confident! and your grades are really good.

How many A Levels do you need to get a good shot (not considering other factors)???
-
Definitely more than 2. I'd say 3 is enough, some people consider 4 -5 A levels.
It's up to you.
-
Do you know anyone who went to Yale doing A-Levels???...What grades and extracurriculars did he have???
-
I know a girl that got accepted into Yale's with an unweighted GPA of 4.1. She was doing IB though not A-Levels, I can ask for you how many IB subjects she had... IB is similar to A - Levels though. She participated in a lot of extra-curriculum activities but she only wrote down 5 on her application (maximum), she took part in a lot of non-academic activities (outside school).
I can ask specifically for you if needed.
-
Please do ask el.diablo....i would be really happy.....Ask her about her SAT (1 and 2) scores also.....Also please find out about someone doing A-Levels.
-
Omega,
Sorry for the late reply... was occupied with a lot of things. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with A-Level's that got accepted. I think she took the ACT with writing component instead of the SAT Subjects. The thing admissions liked about her was that she balanced her school work with a looot of extra-curricular activities and she was involved with a lot of things outside school like horse-riding and sports.

That would look good on your resume and will help you.
By the way, did she do 5 A-Levels in 1 year? or AS+A2 in 2 years?
-
as+a2 in 2 years
