Post by: igext on September 13, 2010, 02:10:08 pm
For AS and A levels Im Taking maths and physics
for the third im confused between chemistry and bussiness which should i take if i am considering engnieering at UK or US universities?
As for Software engineering do i have to take ICT at AS or A level or is it not necessary?

Depends on what kind of engineering, however, Chem and Physics are a must for most kinds.

Business St. is a worthless subject honestly speaking.

Hmm.......i would advise chemistry especially if you plan to opt for chemical engineering!

Well.....like Ari highlighted Business will in no case benefit you in your future :)

I dont think ICT is a must.........but it would surely be an advantage to you!

ICT isn't neccessary. But it helps to show your interest or enthusiasm for the subject in your personal statement. Sinve you want to get in software engineering, the BEST combo will be Maths, Further Maths, Physics and ICT. But remember, ICT is considered a 'soft' subject by oxbridge and the likes, so I'd take chemistry instead, plus it keeps options open. Don't take Business studies, imo.
