The different types of farming methods are:

6  types are the key ones:

Arable (Growing Crops)
Pastoral (Keeping and grazing Animals)
Commersial (Growing crops for selling - usually growing cash crops, e.g.- tea)
Subsistance (Farmer does this farming for feeding himself and his family)
Intensive (Producing a high output from small area of the land)
Extensive (Producing a low output from large area of the land)

Other farming methods can also divert the farmer's mind!!
