Need help urgently!
ths year's history paper 2 theme is the spanish civil war. and i have no clue on what it is about. can someone please give me links to good, reliable sites through which i can revise for it.

I'm taking that exam as well.
Imagine, the Spanish Civil War has never been on any IGCSE exam papers...it's the first time we get it and that means we can't go back on past papers or anything!
Basically, the paper will be based on Germany's involvement in the war. You don't need to know everything on the war, the main thing that you need to know is why Hitler got involved.Some things i can come up with are...
a) It was his chance to defeat communism there
b) He wanted to test out his new weapons and train his army for world war 2.
There are other reaons as well, i'm sure you can find them on the net or something.
I suggest you learn about the city "Guernica" as well, it's the city that Hitler bombed and Destructed.
Also remember that during this time, Mussolini and Hitler were allies. Their Enemies were Franco and the USSR.The Russians were basically supplying Spain with weapons.
The paper is gonna be on sources, so make sure you practice those as well.

By the way, i tried searching on the spanish civil war but there is such a lack of information..did you notice that too?
I can barely find anything on the internet about it. But what i did is asked my teacher and she helped me out, maybe you should do the same?

u mmean we have to choose spanish civil war? i thought another choice would be japan?

but i juz checked the syllybus n it said...
"Paper 2 will have two options : a 19th century and a 20th century. Candidates answer the question on one option.
For the examination 2009 the topics will be:
19th century: Modernisation of Japan (May/June examination)
The Causes of First world War (november examination)
2oth century: Spanish Civil War (may/june examination)
Soviet control (november examination)

All I know is that it's damn well complicated.

You wouldn't happen to know how it works? My school doesn't tell us much about the History IGCSE. German involvement in the Spanish Civil War is going to come on the source based paper right? So we'd just need a sort of background information? Hopefully.

I just read a few pages and i must say it is really good, it gives you all the points you need.
I've been searching and searching for this kind of thing for ages, my teacher couldn't even find anything.

haha, I don't actually know. I thought the source based one was a combination of different things (like I said, my school tells us next to nothing). You mean for paper 4?
We covered Russia and USA at school but I'd probably pick USA. The USSR have had too many revolutions.

you did TWO depth studies? WOW!! we didnt even have time to finish one :( your lucky u have a choice, we have to do russia...and yes, with all its revolutions!
