Title: Suggestions
Post by: past-papers on May 29, 2008, 10:07:02 pm
Let unregistered people post ;)

Share your database around incase you get sued. Just make a new host etc...

Ask the sueing comrporations to sue other past paper websites first. If you need a list, just ask.

I am making a similar website to this one, not as competition, but as a service. I hope we can work together.

What about letting people ftp files you don't have onto your database.

Listen when you make your new site, please don't forget to link to this forum ;) because its better to have one forum for all this, alright?

and another thing: i don't get what you mean by "let unregistered people post"

if you let unregistered people post then there will be spam (a huge amount!) and then there will be lots of rudness and disrespect to members.... and finally did you notice with all posts there is your information being given out, how will you get them from unsignede members? why can't they be like you and register?

Edited is my current site but it sucks so I'm making a new one called "Science Past Papers" with only Science Papers.

I link to this site a lot and so you should give me credit ;D

Spam may be a problem but if you hire Moderators to work here that can IP ban users from the Forum, that won't be a problem. People just cannot be bothered signing up for forums like this and its often best to allow people posting privileges without signing up. Maybe not allow unregistered people to Post images or Upload to the server??

As to linking to your forum, I had already started on a forum of my own making before I was alerted to this forum here so this could be a slight problem maybe. I'll still link here though, no problems and I hope you can link back  ;)

And let trusted people only ftp to your server. Its a resource that is invaluable.

And something else you will be interested in is looking into installing latex on your forum so that people who want to talk about Math, can do so easily. I have no idea how one can accomplish this but I know that TSR (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk) have done this. This could be a nice touch to your forum.

And being the busy bee I am, I also would urge you to change the website design for the home page. Frankly, its crap. I may be being harsh but it has no aesthetical value and it's like playing detective when ther'es something someone wants to find.

Is there any way that we can move individual posts out of one forum and into another??

Its quite irritating that people don't post in the correct forum and I can't seem to move individual threads.

I suggest we make it so that everytime someone goes onto www.freeexampapers.com, they get an advertisement page and they can only move on if they click advance button. More people will click the ads that way. We can make more money for papers and that PDF scanner too.

nah, that way its too annoying for users, i dont think its a great idea to force them to see ads - it gets them a bad reputation.
