Q3 Part (b)(c) The answer is R is proportional to 1/d2 because when you double the diameter the resistance is decreased by 4 times. The diameter is inversely proportional to d (check the values of the resistance you calculated in the table and see whether the answer to wire AB is 4 times the answer to CD)

(2) Physics P6 October/November 2006
Q3 Part (b) (i)You should place 2 pins on the incident ray (GJ) and 2 pins on the reflected ray (GK). You have already found the position of pin A previously. Make sure that the gap between the pins on the same ray are atleast further apart than 5 cm (the theory to this complicated and you don't really need to know it).
(ii) You would view the bases because it is easiest to view if the pins are standing upright or not.
