Hey.
I'm going to be so dead for my IGCSE Math exams on Oct/Nov 2010.
I just did Jun 2009's past paper. I'll barely get a B.
I really need to get an A*.
What should I do ? I'm going to be so deaad if I don't at least get an A.
Can anyone give me suggestions and references for studying Math?
Our school doesn't give us any bookss
Just has us study from the past papers.
Could anyone help me?

Saladin:
The book I followed for IGCSE Mathematics is from Dr. David Rayner. I found his exercises very good, but the explanations were vague.

I would suggest that you do a past paper, and mark it by yourself. Then see which areas you are weak at, for example sets or vectors etc.

Then you simply practice those specific chapters from the book.

It may also help to have topic based questions that are from previous past papers.

Hope that helps :)

If there is any particular resource that you think you might need, please post a topic in the IGCSE reference and resources sub-board.

Happy revising! :)

Okay , Maths is ALL abt practicing so what u need to do is do LOADS of past papers the minimum is 10 -15 years *meaning nov and june sessions * each for  ppr 2 and 4 !

If u have any doubt u can post it in the subject doubt board and I'm sure we'll help ya ;)

As for the books i recommend the following which helped me loads thro the hardest times :

IGCSE Reveision Guide for Mathematics            ISBN 978-0-340-81578-6
check out the website on that book                   www.hoddereducation.co.uk

as for the second * i got the old one srry *:

Extended Mathematics For IGCSE by David Rayner   ISBN 0-19-914785-X

check out the website written on the book which is         www.oup.com

Hope I helped :)

Yes practising is very helpful, but I think she wanted something that will helpe her actually understand the concept better....

The formula booklet that I attached, will surely help you with getting to know the more advantageous techniques. :)
