It depends on the type of music. Old songs are for relaxation. Melancholy songs are for (apparently) reducing sadness. :P

Rock and roll is for getting enthusiastic and motivated. Rap is for getting hyper.

It is for relaxation, but pretty much depends on the type of music as I outlined.

Music is an art....like any art, it is beautiful and mesmerising.

Music can change your mood...it can help relieve stress, make you happy, make you feel energetic, relaxed,sleepy,etc..depending on the type of music as borakk mentioned earlier.

Used to get you in the mood. Its an old way actually. People like music for just this - it helps them to be back in a good mood.

And good mood= feeling better = happy.

Though I can't understand this phenomenon myself. Music can never change my mood in any way. But it should apply to others, apparently.

Ofc. In war, you use the "music" of gunshot to communicate to other squads that battle started. :P

Not a big fan of music but surely it sometimes is used to make your mind relax.

When I dance ballet, I normally listen to piano or violin music and it is just so beautiful.

It depends on the type of music. Classic ones are for relaxation I believe but metal is for banging your head. :P

Soundtracks in movies make me cry.  ::)

What can language be? Elaborate please.

Language of peace... Of togetherness. Of compassion-- a way of asking for help. Like for Haiti it was.

Language of fear, terror, esp. in countries where people lack freedom.

*ahem* metal fan here  ::)

ohkay...let me make it clear. Metal can be of different types. When  metal started, there was no head-banging  ::) From metal, over a period of years, new genres evolved, which involved using the metal base, but introducing some screaming and screeching  ::) This is not pure metal...

If you like instrumentals, metal is divine  :)
