first off, i'm not sure if i was supposed to post this in one of those subtopics (or a different board, even) but i didn't think it classified as any of them..

anyway, i've been going over my exams in my head and.. i'm 99% sure i didn't get A's. (1% chance of a miracle, i guess :P)
so i was thinking.. i have two options:
i can either settle for the average grades i'm most probably going to get (a B and a C, i think), go to an average uni THIS YEAR, and lead an very average life..
OR i can take a year off before uni to repeat my a levels and get the A's i need (call me stubborn, but i still refuse to believe i am incapable of doing so :/), get into the uni of my choice, and have the sort of future I want.

what would you do if you were in my place?

just for the record, i know there's nothing wrong with being "average", but i guess a lifetime of being told you're better than that kinda makes it hard to settle for being just average  :-\
i'm sorry if this offends anyone in any way.

Consider giving your SATs and aiming for an American Uni.

[Spy]:
Okay, first thing DO NOT SAY YOU WILL NOT GET AN A BEFORE THE RESULTS COME OUT, you never know how low the threshold is. But let's say unfortunately you didn't end up with A's, then me personally I love to be special, and since ive been hearing the same you have from parents, then I'd take a gap year and repeat ONLY IF I KNOW THAT I CAN DO BETTER, But If think that this is what you worked your best for then this is what you deserve which is nothing wrong. It all depends on you, do you think you CAN do better? If yes then go ahead and repeat them. but like I said wait for the results.

good luck and best wishes my Jordanian sister ;)

i did consider that actually, but my parents said it was out of the question.
i think my dad would only let me go there if i got into Berkley (it's the uni he went to, and he's told me on several occasions that he wanted me to go there as well), but.. well tbh, there's no way in hell i'd get into Berkley :-[

how'd you know that i'm jordanian and stuff? D:
i do believe i can do better. if i didn't, i wouldn't even be considering it. it'd be pointless.
but still.. it might just be a waste of time AND money :-\
